My name is Ashlee Perkins, and welcome to my new blog, Nantucket Blue. I am a recent graduate of SCAD with a Bachelor's in Fine Arts, and I also just so happen to make cakes once in a while!
Let's get you caught up. Here are a few cakes that I've whipped up in my time at Minette Rushing's Custom Cakes of Savannah.
Let's start off with my crowning glory. A turkey cake for a celebrity client.
An edible helicopter for a Savannah airman. This cake was a blast to create!
This owl is one of my personal favorites. The client instructed us to create an owl in brown and teal - the rest was up to me! I got to use my creative freedom and artistic license to make this beauty.
Here's a viking ship we did as a groom's cake for a recent wedding. This cake utilized my new knowledge of modeling chocolate - a new favorite technique for me!
A groom's cake for the general manager of The Lady and Sons (Paula Deen's restaurant - a local favorite!). Here you can really see evidence of my cartooning background!
And here's some evidence of my painting background! An "Apple" logo cake for an Apple employee!
OH GEEZ LOOK OUT ITS AN ALLIGATOR. Oh, just kidding, its a cake.
